The Instructors

Emerson College

With 20+ years of competitive dance training; national credits for acting, dancing, and choreography; and artistic projects accounting for 6-figures in revenue for local non-profits, Celeste is happy to lend her talents to the students of Musical Theater Studio.

Celeste has performed and competed extensively as a dancer and majorette for the majority of her childhood, earning her countless titles and trophies throughout New York state and the Great Lakes areas.  She began teaching ballet to youth and adult classes at 16 years old and moved on to regularly choreographing musical theater and sponsored dance productions by the age of 18.

Having studied under Marlena Yannetti and Janet Craft at Emerson College in Boston, Celeste is known for having vaudeville-inspired, but distinctly original, thoughtful, and stirring quality of movement in her choreography. Completing her college years at Emerson’s Los Angeles satellite school, Celeste! went on to intern at the Ellen DeGeneres Show, work for Disney Interactive Studios, perform as a backup dancer at the 2007 Independent Spirit Awards, and book gigs both in front of and behind the camera.

After relocating to Portland, Maine, Celeste became a member of Lyric Music Theater, working as a staff director/choreographer for several years, and eventually elected President of the company for their 61st season.

Celeste Green is a published author and co-founder of the independent arts production company Cast Aside Productions.   As a Musical Theater Studio instructor, she enjoys making advanced dancing, acting, and singing relatable and achievable for novice and beginning students.

American Musical and Dramatic Academy, East Carolina University

Originally from Lutherville, Maryland, David fostered his theatrical and creative interests at an early age performing in school productions.  David attended East Carolina University’s School of Music, studying both classical and musical theater voice with John Kramar before transferring to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in 2000.  There he trained in musical theater with Phillip George, Jeffrey Dunn, and Linda Glick; acting with Nicholas Martin Smith and Dan Daily; dance with Casey Colgan, Ramon Galindo, Michele Hart-Haviland, Barry Finkle, Cynthia Murray-Davis, and Mark Santoro; and classical voice with Eileen Schauler.

Once an AMDA graduate, David worked in regional, and summer stock theaters in Maryland, New Hampshire and New York before touring nationally with The Wizard of Oz and A Christmas Carol. Upon moving back to NYC in 2004, David was signed with a talent agency and performed small roles and background work in Film and TV. In 2005 David was cast in the Baltimore incarnation of the Awesome 80’s Prom, directed by the creator (and David’s mentor): Ken Davenport. After 4 months David was moved into the Off-Broadway cast where he earned his way into Actors Equity.

David’s focus and passion is based on musical theater performance and audition training. Using a Meisner based technique as well as knowledge of the history of Musical Theater, David can help you uncover and understand your potential in the art of Musical Theater.
